Greetings. My name is Arthur, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence and succeed in history and the humanities. I hold a Master of Arts in History from Rhode Island College, a Master of Arts in Egyptology from the University of Memphis, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology at Lipscomb University. My academic work has included archaeological fieldwork, historical research, and graduate-level study of the ancient world, allowing me to bring both scholarly expertise and real-world experience into every lesson.
I have several years of teaching experience in both classroom and one-on-one settings. I previously taught middle and high school social studies full time and currently work as a substitute teacher in Middle Tennessee, where I teach students across a wide range of grade levels and subjects. These experiences have helped me develop the flexibility to adapt lessons to each student's individual learning style, whether they need help preparing for an exam, improving their grades, completing a research paper, or gaining a deeper understanding of historical concepts.
My goal is to make history engaging, understandable, and enjoyable rather than simply asking students to memorize names and dates. I emphasize critical thinking, clear communication, and evidence-based reasoning while creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. Whether you are an elementary, middle school, high school, or college student, I look forward to helping you achieve your academic goals and develop a lasting appreciation for history.
