Hey, I'm Phil! For more than 15 years I've been both writing my own creative content and supporting others to do the same.
After receiving my BA in English: Creative Writing, I taught High School English for four years before moving to teach Leadership Development to adults. Yet while my day job was adult instruction, I was always leading writing groups, workshops, and doing informal tutoring on the side. Teaching writing is a part of my life.

But beyond teaching, I am always pushing my own craft forward. I have essays published with numerous online publications (Crosswalk, The Christian Post, and more) and I have published a full length novel, The Tragedy of Oli Ricker.
I am the Acquisitions and Developmental editor for Living Tome Publishing and am excited to help develop the creative writers of the future.

For more than five years, I have helped adults grow or shift their careers through ICF-style career coaching. Through curious questioning and proven coaching exercises, I've helped dozens of people make meaningful steps in their career. Moreover, for more than seven years I have taught courses (both in corporate and public school settings) on the general keys to career success, helping learning develop skills in interviewing, conflict resolutions, goal setting, time management, and more.

In this role, I work with many aspiring authors to help grow their ability to craft narratives and bring manuscripts to fruition. Both my prior education (a B.A. in Creative Writing) and my own creative works (a fantasy novel currently in print) give me the personal and professional experiences needed to help writers bring their stories to life.

I have spent seven years helping adults grow in their careers, including in learning how to show up in an interview as in an authentic, but confident, way. I have also helped companies making hiring decisions, working on the recruitment and interview side of hiring and teaching hiring managers.

For years, I've worked to help writers (of all ages and stages of the craft) grow through both editing and coaching. This means I don't just work to proofread a text, but I also ensure the learner understands the principles of language, grammar, and logic that go into the edits.
