I break grammar down into logical and manageable units, which are reinforced by Latin to English and English to Latin translation. My methods have enabled my own high school students to regularly take top places at the Junior Classical League State Convention in the grammar and translation categories, including three of the top five places for both Latin 1 Grammar and Latin 1 Reading at the 2022 convention, beating out the top private schools in the state. This was accomplished without overwhelming my students with rules, in a homework-free learning environment.
I can help prepare students for the National Latin Exam, Typically, just under half of my high school students gain a gold medal (this is attained by about 12% of test takers nationally).
I received my teaching certificate through Harding University in Searcy, AR, and I have ten years of classroom experience; prior to that I taught a semester of Latin as a graduate assistant at the University of Notre Dame. I am familiar with most of the textbooks commonly used in the USA and UK.
I am currently only accepting students at the Latin 1 (beginner), Latin 2 and Latin 3 levels (no AP).
