I have been tutoring math for the last 13 years, working with a wide range of students from late elementary to early college levels. I am particularly skilled at finding creative ways to help explain concepts so that students can best connect with the material. I am always kind, and I believe that anyone can overcome their math struggles, even if it means taking things slowly, bit by bit.

I have worked as a math interventionist, where my main task was to identify gaps in students’ math understanding and help bridge those gaps. I excel at figuring out how a student thinks and processes information, which allows me to encourage their correct ideas and quickly correct their misunderstandings.
My main degrees are in music, however, and I am excited to help others tackle music theory and composition, as well as develop aural skills. My undergraduate degree was music theory and composition, and I love every component of songwriting: lyrics, chord progressions, harmony, rhythm, and collaboration. I am also comfortable with many elements of music theory, including (but not limited to): reading sheet music, music notation, dictation, aural skills, key signatures, time signatures, part-writing, counterpoint, and harmonic analysis.
