I have experience teaching beginning reading and writing skills that included phonemic awareness, sight words, letter and number formation, rhyming, and skill building. I also have experience with the PALS (Phonemic Awareness Literacy Skills) test.
I have experience teaching Zaner-Bloser handwriting skills. I have taught both printing and cursive writing. I have also taught spelling on a second grade level which included weekly lessons, spelling bees, and tests.
I have extended experience teaching phonics and phonemic awareness skills to early childhood students. I have very strong skills in teaching letters and sounds and building towards word recognition and reading skills.
