Good choices only come from having a good education to see the choices you have. I believe in drawing out a student's talent and potential. That means making sure that they have a sound foundation in a subject and have critical thinking skills to solve complicated problems. This leads to success in all phases of life. I do not believe in giving out answers, but rather guiding the students to pull the answers out for themselves. Education is all about "drawing out" the student's potential from within, making wealth and abundance their own.

My specialties are mathematics through calculus and general sciences along with aerospace engineering. I founded and ran an aerospace flight academy in Washington DC for high school students which covers all aspects of math and science. I believe in application and correlation learning as opposed to simple rote learning. I guarantee that after our lessons that the student will not only be able to solve the problems, but will have mastered the subject. Algebra is the start of solving for the unknown. If at any point in time you have solved the mathmatical problem 2+2=, you have done algebra. If you look at it from this standpoint, you now have a foundation to build from. My purpose is to provide you assistance for the short term so that you are capable of standing on your own two feet in solving algebraic equations. I graduated from MIT and have been applying these concepts for the course of my career. I enjoy helping students achieve their academic goals and becoming successful. I would like to provide the same opportunity for you.

I have officiated basketball for 23 years that includes high school varsity, junior college, and pro-amateur levels. The cities for high school include Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Nashville, TN. I have officiated championship games for the Athletic Amateur Union (AAU0 and have done district and regional playoff games for high school in Los Angeles and Nashville, TN. I have also coached 13-15 year olds on Club Basketball teams during the course of the summer. My specialty is teaching the players how physics directly correlates with what they do on the court and how to use the principles of physics during their course of play.

Calculus, in summary, is the language that links distance with velocity and acceleration, circumference with area and volume, and mass with momentum and kinetic energy. My philosophy is that once you understand the purpose of calculus, you will be more in tune with getting the individual concepts that it requires you to learn in differentiation and integration. That is what I can bring to the table. I have engineered spacecraft, and launch vehicles and aircraft. Calculus directly applies to orbit mechanics in space travel as well as aerodynamics for aircraft.

Geometry is the skeletal system for all of mathematics. For any student that has the aspiration to study in the fields of science and mathematics, a thorough understanding of geometry is vital in order to master all advanced subjects from calculus, differential equations, and any of the engineering disciplines. Geometry serves as the artistic picture of math and my purpose is to help students afford the opportunity to see the math in their heads as they are solving complex problems.

Prealgebra is the start of math beyond just counting your change. This is the base foundation of all mathematical concepts to come. Understanding the foundation of math at this level is critical to being able to master all of the integrated concepts from Algebra to Calculus and Differential Equations. This class is the start of your mathematical resume.

The trigonometric circle is the foundation of all advanced mathematical concepts leading forward into calculus. A solid understanding of the trigonometric applications and how it correlates to the third dimension is imperative to becoming a successful mathematician. This is what I do. I teach students how to prepare themselves for critical thinking in advanced math and recognizing proper applications in solving problems of unusual situations.

Robert is doing a great job of tutoring my nephew by taking a different approach. By having my nephew teach Robert the material, Robert can assess knowledge areas and opportunity areas. Robert ensures my nephew understands and applies the theory behind why he's approaching the math problem in a certain way and solving it. This way my nephew learns and retains the information.
