Bio

Brooke is an accomplished solo, orchestral, and chamber musician with a passion for educating others. She is a winner of various competitions including the Charleston International Music Competition, SAU National Concerto Competition, and the Alabama Music Teachers’ Association Competition. Brooke is an accomplished solo, orchestral, and chamber musician with a passion for educating others. She is a winner of various competitions including the Charleston International Music Competition, SAU National Concerto Competition, and the Alabama Music Teachers’ Association Competition. As an orchestral musician, Brooke has served as concertmaster of the University of Tennessee Symphony, Opera, and Chamber Orchestras and performed with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Brevard Philharmonic, Symphony of the Mountains, and the Amadeus Concert Ensemble. She has been selected for masterclasses with world renown musicians such as llya Kaler, Philip Setzer, Frank Huang, Harlem Quartet, Paul Huang, Ivan Chan, and the Catalyst Quartet. An adaptable teacher with a classical approach, she has taught students from elementary to the university level as a violin sectional leader and private instructor. Holding a diverse skill set, Brooke has performed as a piano accompanist for many venues including churches and centers for assisted living. She was named the Outstanding Senior in Strings, Volunteer of Distinction, and a Heartland Chamber Music Festival Scholar while an undergraduate. Brooke received a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, double majoring in Plant Sciences and Violin Performance with a minor in Entomology and Plant Pathology. She is pursuing a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music.

I am experienced in assisting and conducting research projects focused on areas such as agroforestry, controlled environment plant physiology, among others. Through developing lectures for audiences such as master gardeners and youth garden camps, I enjoy presenting plant science topics to a variety of audiences. I maintain a small fruit and vegetable farm through sustainable organic plant production practices.

As a pianist, I have won multiple music teacher association competitions and have over a decade of experience performing. As a piano accompanist, I have regularly performed for churches and assisted living centers. Additionally, I have programmed concerts for funerals and nursing homes.

I am avid performer, winning competitions internationally including the Charleston International Music Competition and the SAU Concerto Competition. I won the concertmaster position of my orchestra as an undergraduate, also playing in the violin sections of symphonies such as the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Brevard Philharmonic, and the Amadeus Chamber Ensemble. I have taught violin at the from elementary to university level through sectionals and private lessons. I hold a bachelor's in music from the University of Tennessee and am pursuing a master's in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
