Carissa I.

Hi, I am Carissa I. I am a mother of three grown children; two sons and one daughter. My degree from Minnesota State University- Moorhead is Early Childhood Special Education. I specialize in working with children with special needs and can provide one on one sessions to support their development in any situations, and subjects in schools. My daughter has ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia. I have been homeschooling my daughter part time in many subjects and working directly with her to aid in her independence, and progression throughout her high school career. She attends high school in the mornings and is able to homeschool, work with her horses, and obtain her vet assistant certification during the afternoon hours.

I have worked for six years in a Preschool/ Prekindergarten classroom where I was head teacher and created a fun and engaging environment for the children.

I have also worked as a Computer and Technology Teacher for six years for grades kindergarten through eighth grade at a private school.
I work with 4H children and have meetings and we work on projects and activities ranging from learning about horses and their bones to coding on a computer. I am very crafty and have my own small business where I sew bow ties and bandanas for dogs and pets. The children range in ages from eight years to seventeen yrs old in my 4H group.

I have also taught students who are English as a Second Language. This was a very enjoyable experience as the students had arrived shortly in the USA and it was very exciting to see their English Language expand in such a short amount of time. The students ranged from elementary ages such as eight yrs old to eighteen years old.
