I am a career educator with over 20 years of experience teaching business & computer science to students in grades 9-12, as well as undergraduate college students & adults learners of all ages up through age 74! I have taught in person, as well as virtually.
I hold a BS in Accounting with Big 6 experience, as well as an MBA & MS in Education. I am an entrepreneur and I have held several interesting corporate roles throughout my career.
My business teaching includes financial & managerial accounting, business law, personal finance, as well as tax.
My computer science teaching includes preparing students for the CompTIA A+ exams, teaching AP CSP (JavaScript) and AP CSA (Java).
I help individuals at all levels explore their career interests, choosing pathways, goal setting, resumes, and interview techniques.
I also have taught computer applications, including all of the main MS Office applications (Word, Except, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) at the expert level.
I believe students learn the most in classes they enjoy and fun activities and relating concepts/material to the real world - and making them personal, when available, will make them more memorable.
I believe in Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence and everyone has a preferred way of receiving information (visual, auditory, kinestic).
I welcome students in grades 9 and above or those exceptional students that wish to explore their abilities beyond what their schools may offer.
