Hello! My name is Carter. I tutor statistics and sometimes math and computer science. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2017, where I majored in Statistics. I also completed a PhD in Biomedical Informatics from Ohio State in 2022.

I have been tutoring since early in college, and have tutored all levels from elementary to graduate school classes. My specialties are in math and statistics, but I have also tutored basic sciences and computer programming. I can also help...

I am a PhD student in biostatistics at the Medical University of South Carolina and I have a BS in statistics from the University of South Carolina. I have been doing research in statistics for several years now, and am proficient in R and SAS. I have a solid mathematical background and understanding of statistical principles.

I have been programming computers for approximately four years now, and program almost daily. I am comfortable with Java, UNIX, SAS, and R, and have taken formal coursework in all of these areas. I also use programming languages, primarily R, in my academic research.

I took an upper level discrete mathematics course at the University of South Carolina (MATH 574) and received an A. I have also encountered discrete mathematics concepts in several statistics courses such as probability. Discrete mathematics is also a component of the GRE Quantitative section, which I scored 167 out 170 on.

I use the Ubuntu operating system as well as Terminal on Mac OS X to manage my files. I also have taken a formal university class on UNIX/LINUX computing, where I learned the fundamentals of LINUX.

I have used Mac computers for a decade now and am quite familiar with both the operating system and hardware of Macs. I frequently use the Terminal to gain more control over my Mac's file structure, giving me a deeper understanding of Mac OS X.

I have become proficient in R through a combination of research and coursework. My undergraduate senior thesis, a predictive model for water quality in Charleston, SC, was conducted and written entirely in R. I have also taken formal coursework in R at the University of South Carolina.

I completed a statistical computing class at my university where we covered SAS. I received an A in that course and have been using SAS moderately in other courses and in research contexts.

I currently use bash on Mac OS X, a version of UNIX/LINUX. I have also taken a UNIX class at my university. I use UNIX commands daily.
