Educational Background
I hold dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Western Carolina University (2020). My psychology background gives me a strong foundation in learning theory, behavior, and development, while sociology helps me understand the systemic and cultural contexts students come from — both of which directly inform how I approach tutoring and coaching.
Previous Tutoring/Teaching Experience & Methods
My experience spans multiple settings. As a classroom teacher at Charleston Development Academy, I teach K-12 Social Studies and lead a school-wide mentorship program. Prior to that, I provided instructional support in special education at Pomona Unified School District, where I worked closely with students who needed differentiated, individualized approaches to learning.
My most relevant experience for tutoring specifically is my college access coaching work at the National College Resources Foundation, where I coached 100+ students through the college application and planning process — one-on-one, goal-oriented, and highly personalized. That work mirrors what good tutoring looks like: meeting students where they are and building a clear path forward.
My approach is strengths-based and relationship-first. I don't just deliver content — I figure out how a student thinks and build from there.
