Hello hello! I am a Sign Language Interpreter who has a passion for learning and for helping other’s reach their incredible potential. As a student at Blue Ridge Community College I worked in the Student Success Center as a tutor, providing support for my fellow students in classes such as American Sign Language, English, Writing, and Public Speaking. When I wasn’t tutoring with the SSC or doing my own homework, I helped my classmates out on the side with their biology, chemistry, and research classes.
I have worked with elementary and middle school aged children as a summer camp counselor with FLAG Camp and love making learning fun for kids! I have done research into learning styles (such as auditory, visual, or kinesthetic) and enjoy identifying and matching students’ primary learning styles. I can’t wait to encourage your student on their learning experience!
Math was my struggle as an elementary student. Luckily, I had a math tutor who explained it all to me and helped me excel with my math. I have tutored many students through summer camp as they work to succeed at their summer school math. I love watching it finally click!
Elementary science was my favorite subject as a child! Experiments made concepts come to life for me and I learned to apply my homework to the real world. I match students’ learning styles to make learning science much more than a memorization of facts!
I am an American Sign Language interpreter and work about 30 hours a week interpreting phone calls for Deaf and hearing clients. I have taught over five different one on one, ongoing Sign Language classes for people interested in becoming fluent or semi fluent in Sign Language. Many of my previous students still sign today, even after they have completed their classes!
My high school writing instructor did an amazing job of teaching me how to write! So much so that when I got to college I tested out of all of my first and second year writing courses! I tutored writing in the Student Success Center at my college and saw count
