Hello! My name is Caroline, and I am a certified high school Spanish teacher in SC. I graduated from USC Upstate in 2022 with degrees in Spanish and Secondary Education. I finished an M.S. in Curriculum Design and Distance Learning last year.
My love of language began in high school, when I started volunteering with ESL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes. I began practicing Spanish with some of the students in our program, and then enrolled in classes at school. I fell in love not only with Spanish, but with the process of learning languages. In college, I was an undergraduate researcher with a focus on second language acquistion and digital language learning. Throughout college, I worked with nonprofits teaching English as a second language. I even taught English online to classes of adult students in Managua, Nicaragua.
After graduation, I began work as a high school Spanish teacher. I have been teaching Spanish 1 and 2 for the past four years and LOVE it. I believe in the power of communication-based learning, and that language-learning should be FUN!
I am married to an English teacher, and we live in Spartanburg with our two cats. We love art, concerts, music, and spending time outside.
