Hello, I'm Noula! I am a certified mathematics with 5 years of classroom teaching experience and a strong academic background in both mathematics and education. I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in Education, and in 2024 I earned my Master's degree in Gifted and Talented Education.
For 4 years, I taught Algebra (College Prep and Advanced) in a classroom setting while also providing after-school tutoring to support students at varying skill levels. During this time, I worked closely with students to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and prepare for quizzes, tests, and the Algebra 1 End-of-Course (EOC) exam. The overwhelming majority of my students passed the EOC exam, supported by my structured review and skill reinforcement.
Currently, I teach Geometry and continue to tutor students in both Algebra and Geometry. I have experience working with students ages 12-17 in both whole- class and one-on-one settings, which allows me to adapt my instruction to each student's learning style, pace, and academic needs.
My tutoring approach focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps while reinforcing foundational skills. I prioritize guided practice, strategic problem-solving, and test preparation to help students improve their performance and confidence in math. I also incorporate review of class materials, homework support, and targeted exam preparation.
As a classroom teacher, I understand curriculum standards, pacing, and common student misconceptions, which allows me to provide structured, effective support that aligns with what students are learning in school. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also build long-term understanding and confidence in mathematics.
