I continued tutoring into college, where I majored in Literature and Creative Writing, and then in graduate school, as I prepared for a career as a professor by assistant-teaching developmental English courses at a local community college.
I've now taught English composition at the college level for over five years, in two different states and at five different institutions. I've continued tutoring alongside teaching simply because I have a passion for helping students improve their skills and become more effective communicators. Over the years, I've helped learners meet all kinds of goals: improve their grades in high school and college courses; increase their SAT and ACT language arts scores; excel on their AP Literature and Composition exams; and even craft compelling personal essays for college applications.
Though I have experience helping students as young as five years old, today, I find tutoring high school and college students and adult learners to be the most satisfying. I am available to tutor both in-person and online.
