Most students come to me when they’re underperforming in challenging courses like AP Chemistry, Physics, or Calculus—and within a short time, they begin to understand the material clearly and improve their performance.
I specialize in advanced high school and university subjects, including AP Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, and college-level math, chemistry, and physics. I work especially well with students who feel overwhelmed, are falling behind, or want to master difficult material at a deeper level.
My approach focuses on building conceptual understanding first, before introducing mathematical structures. This reduces errors and allows students to solve problems with confidence instead of memorization. I am particularly effective at explaining complex topics in a clear, intuitive way that makes them easier to understand.
I also teach strategy—how to learn efficiently, how to approach complex problems, and how to manage time during exams. My students often see immediate improvement and become more independent learners over time.
I hold a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Utah and have years of experience teaching and tutoring students at a wide range of levels, from those needing foundational support to high-achieving students preparing for rigorous academic paths.
If you’re looking for clear explanations, efficient strategies, and real improvement in performance and confidence, I’d be glad to help.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I love teaching test prep!! I have always been a strong test taker. There are many skills beyond knowledge such as mindset and strategy.
ADHD

ADHD

Not only was I a rambucious child that was diagnosed with ADHD, I am formally trained to work with ADHD students thorough teacher trainings and professional development. I appreciate the diversity of challenges thar arise in the classroom. students must take accountability and develop self management skills in order to thrive in academics. It is important to note that by all statistical measures, ADHD kids are much more likely to become millionaires than their counterparts.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have tutored Algebra since I worked in the math center at Fort Lewis College in 1996. My love for teaching started with teaching math in college. I excel in making complex material available to students at all levels.
Calculus

Calculus

I have always loved teaching math and calculus is where math becomes fun. I have taught calculus and applied calculus to high schools, college and graduate students. Jason 603-903-8813
Chemistry

Chemistry

Taught chemistry to high school, collage and graduate students. I am good at what I do and this is my strongest suit.
Dyslexia

Dyslexia

I thrived in academics after being diagnosed Dyslexic in 3rd grade when I could not read or write. I was fortunate to be in Ann Arbor Michigan where the learning program was strong and I learned the skills to manage my challenge. There are advantages the Dyslexic mind has and some of the deficits can never be "fixed". the goal is to strategize utilizing the attributes we have and managing the challenges we face.
Earth Science

Earth Science

I was hired to teach Earth science and Physical science as a combined course in 2016 at Jeffery Rindge Middle School. I designed a year long curriculum around studying the physics of a hurricane. We studied density, the Coriolis effect, ocean currents and even designed a smart city with the idea hurricanes are getting stronger due to global climate change. The entire curriculum is scaffolded so that the complexity of assignments, graphing and lab reports increased in a manageable way throughout the year.
Physical Science

Physical Science

Taught 8th grade physical science for 2 years. Have many strong references.
Physics

Physics

I taught AP Calculus and AP physics. My PhD is physics based.
Quantum Physics

Quantum Physics

I took 4 semesters of quantum Mechanics at the university of Utah. Two semesters of pure quantum mechanics and two semesters of theoretical chemistry, which is really a computational study of quantum mechanics. It is important to note that Quantum physics derives form the study of energy as particle size decreased to the point of the break down of classical mechanics. Essentially, there is little difference between the subjects of quantum chemistry and quantum physics.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

I was the teaching assistant for the late, great Henry Eyring in thermodynamics at the University of Utah for two terms. I not only taught the auxiliary lessons, but I was also permitted to teach Thermodynamics lectures in front of more than 150 students. Thermodynamics and quantum mechanics are often considered two of the most difficult undergraduate chemistry courses to teach, and I volunteered for the extra work because I genuinely love the subject. I first studied undergraduate Thermo at Eastern Michigan University, and later took graduate-level Thermodynamics under the tutelage of Peter B. Armentrout at the University of Utah. I love Thermo and still keep my books close by, ready for any opportunity to dig back into the subject.

Knowledgeable and Hard working

I worked with Jason on several high level topics for my College Analytical Chemistry course. Jason is very good at cutting through the nitty gritty to get a definitive straight forward answer. I was able to send my work to him in advance and he would have everything worked out prior to the session. I have worked with a dozen college tutors and have had the best experience with Jason.

Great tutor, explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand!

I have been working with Jason on AP Physics C: Mechanics for a little while, and my sessions have been very productive and he explains concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I look forward to our future sessions!

Exceptional Tutor

Jason is an excellent tutor for AP Calc. He is extremely knowledgeable and engaging. He focuses on helping you to actually understand the material, rather than just giving answers to the problems. He is also very prepared and thorough. It is clear that he genuinely cares about making sure you are progressing and confident with the material. I have been very impressed with his teaching style and his ability to make difficult concepts feel manageable. I would highly recommend Jason to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, dependable, and effective tutor.
