Hello! I am an adaptable educator who specializes in helping high school students build confidence in English, essay writing, literary analysis, and reading comprehension. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of South Carolina Upstate, am certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist in Word Associate, and am actively pursuing my teaching certification. Whether a student needs help crafting analytical essays, understanding complex literature, or improving basic communication, I provide patient support tailored to how they learn best.
Since 2025, I have worked as a substitute teacher across a variety of K-12 settings. While I work with many age groups, my main focus is in High School classrooms. Being in live classrooms has taught me how to manage different learning environments, keep teenagers engaged, and explain tough concepts on short notice. My experience in local schools helps me understand current classroom expectations so I can offer targeted, practical support for individual students.
My teaching style connects traditional reading and writing to modern media and real-world contexts, making complex ideas much easier to grasp. I like to break overwhelming writing assignments into simple, manageable steps, guiding students through brainstorming, outlining, editing, and properly finding and citing sources. Above all, I focus on creating a low-stress space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building real confidence in their work.
