I have significant experience in bringing the Spanish language into the lives of young children; helping middle and high school students improve their grades in their Spanish language courses; and teaching adult executives how to effectively communicate in the Spanish language when they travel abroad as well as conduct telephone conversations with overseas businesses.

Learning a language is a wonderful journey, and I am committed to help my students accomplish it in the most interesting ways.

I focus on helping student's to improve their confidence, helping him or her to find their journey into my Spanish language both satisfying and rewarding.

I always tailor each of my classes to the particular needs of my individual students. For example, the range of classes I offer includes public speaking, customer care, holidays, meetings, negotiations, telephone conversations, and interviews. I have taught executives who need to be able to effectively communicate when they travel abroad. I have also prepared students for their AP Spanish test.

My course is based on the communicative method with a particular focus on the oral practice. The grammar I teach is immediately contextualized in the conversation. My students learn how to communicate on important topics through a series of fun exercises and active interactions.

My Spanish lessons are dynamic, so from the first day my student and I will talk in Spanish all the time. We will work as a team to achieve success, and I know my students will learn to speak, read and write Spanish correctly.

Since every student is different, I will customize the teaching process, so you will benefit 100% from it. I enjoy interacting with people, and my goal is to help them achieve their goals in learning how to speak, write and read Spanish. I teach Spanish and cultural acumen to business professionals, such as, for an executive who travels abroad and needs to be able to communicate. My class is very active in conversation from the first day, so you and I will talk in Spanish all the time. My student and I will work as a team to ensure a successful result. I am confident that I help my students resolve their problems in understanding and conversing in the Spanish language. I love to teach one on one time, with kids and adults. I've tutored here at USA, high school and college students, helping them solve a wide variety of their problems with my language, for example: homework, exercises, translations, grammar, conversations, essays, etc. My students have been very happy with their results, and trusting with my tutoring. I am preparing students for their APS Spanish test, (state Spanish test), too. Also, I taught groups of children and adults within programs at the Berlitz Language Center at New York, and I had a special Spanish program for adults when I lived on Long Island, at New York state. My native language is Spanish. I was born in Colombia. I have over 25 years professional experience, including work in South America, as well as in the USA. In South America, I had extensive experience teaching Spanish at public schools in high school level, and private students (children and adults), too. The U.S. Equivalency for my educational credentials, for my Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages (English/Spanish) Education, was evaluated and authenticated, in 2008, by the World Education Services (WES). It is convenient for me to teach near Rock Hill, South Carolina (where I now reside). I teach private one on one classes at either public libraries (or wherever my students and I mutually decide to meet).

Amazing Tutor!

My experience as Betty's student was truly AMAZING! She was not only kind and empathetic but also challenged me to improve my Spanish skills. Although I was already fluent in Spanish, I hired Betty as a tutor to help me learn more business-related terms in Spanish so that I could land a job in a Spanish-speaking country. Thanks to Betty's exceptional tutoring, I was able to successfully obtain a life-changing job opportunity in the Dominican Republic, which was my ultimate goal and I couldn't have done it without her!! Very efficient and organized

Betty has been an excellent tutor. She is super patient, kind, enthusiastic with excellent communication and totally professional. She has also been very accommodating, sometimes I have had to reschedule classes last minute and there has not been any problem. She makes learning really fun and its hard to get bored when learning with her. She also sends the lesson material for review.
