I bring 24 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher and tutor, working with students across elementary and middle grade levels in both one-on-one and small-group settings. My educational background includes formal teacher preparation along with ongoing professional development in instructional best practices, curriculum design, and student-centered learning. This strong foundation allows me to confidently tutor students in core academic areas while adapting instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner.

Throughout my 24-year career, I have supported students with a wide range of abilities, learning styles, and academic goals. I have taught in traditional classroom settings and provided individualized tutoring support, giving me extensive experience adjusting instruction, pacing, and strategies to help students succeed. My teaching approach focuses on breaking concepts into manageable steps, reinforcing learning through guided practice, and checking for understanding so students build true mastery and confidence.

I believe effective tutoring begins with strong relationships. I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning preferences in order to create personalized, engaging lessons. I use a variety of instructional strategies, including direct instruction, visual supports, hands-on activities, and real-world examples to make learning meaningful and accessible. I also emphasize growth mindset and encouragement, helping students feel capable, supported, and motivated.

Whether a student needs academic reinforcement, skill-building, or individualized support, my goal is always to provide a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and proud of their progress. I value open communication with families and strive to partner with parents to ensure continued growth beyond each tutoring session.
