Hi, I’m Cynthia! School can be stressful, especially when math equations are involved. Hours of struggling on impossible homework questions or cramming for exams are not a great weekend activity… trust me, I’ve been there! I truly believe the best way to learn is from student to student with someone who understands the pressure and can motivate you to be your best. I’m an Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineer who studied and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where I learned to stay focused and finish strong, while taking hold of my passions and not letting go.
In college, I tutored other students for 4 years through a wide range of math and science classes, including Calculus 1 & 2, Physics 1 & 2, Differential Equations, Mechanical Design, Aerodynamics, and even Computational Fluid Mechanics. Now, I work as a practicing Flight Engineer at a major aerospace company, and I love helping students build confidence as they work toward similar goals.
My tutoring journey started in high school, where I held study groups and question sessions in the library for students struggling in classes I had already completed, such as Geometry, Algebra, and Physics. That’s what my sessions are all about: adjusting the pace and explaining concepts in a way your brain can actually process and put into practice. I create a personalized plan for each student and work side-by-side through tough problems together, with plenty of opportunities for questions. I have experience with all ages, from volunteering with preschoolers at my local Boys and Girls Club to high school and pre-college prep to college-level STEM. Whatever you need: a new method, a way to memorize something, or a study plan, I’m here to help you succeed.
