Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Business

I am currently President/Treasurer and Director of Business/Programs of a non-profit, 501(c)3 arts organization which I established in 1983. I have done all the accounting, filing of federal form 990 non-profit Tax returns for 33 years. I handle, deposits, disbursements, marketing, web site, social media, press releases, etc.

In 2008 the organization grossed nearly 1/4 of million in gross receipts. The arts organization now operates in South Carolina and New Jersey.

Career Development

I hold a BA, and Ed M and have worked in both the private and public arenas since 1971. I have a real estate business, tutoring business, children's theatre business and consulting business.
I have managed to establish numerous sources of income from many careers and, as Director of Business and Programs of a non-profit 501(c) 3 arts organization for 33 years, I have seen thousands of resumes and know the importance of having good resumes in obtaining interviews. I have hired and evaluated over 100 people in my various careers.

My daughter had been out of school for 2 years and when she took her math entrance college test, it was a flop. As she came out of the testing lab, her reply when I questioned how she did was an almost tearful: "I did really bad but I know I knew how to do that math in high school.
