Throughout my career, I have studied a wide array of subjects within psychology. I am proficient in general psychology, learning and memory, intelligence, substance abuse, cognition, human development, consciousness, forensic psychology, history of psychology, counseling, and other areas within this field.

I am a certified addictions counselor for South Carolina. I have years of experience in diagnosing and treating at risk youth, as well as adults battling psychological problems/addictions.

I have years of experience in teaching all areas of psychology to teens and college students. I teach writing skills, as well as effectively composing papers in APA format. I will guide you through the process of breaking down peer-reviewed articles, and how to include meaningful sources in your work. Also, I will devise lessons that make it easy to understand and develop a working knowledge of any aspect of psychology. I always think "outside the box" in my approach to teaching. I love to figure out how people learn (different people learn different ways). I am very flexible in my teaching and tailor my approach to match the needs of the student. I make it a point to make the subjects taught as fun and applicable to real life as possible. Right now I am taking a leave from the workplace to be a full time mom, but I would love the opportunity to work with students and help them become more successful in school.

I will provide lessons and assignments specifically designed to meet the needs of the student. They will not be overwhelming, but will challenge and promote further success in school.

I am a magna cum laude undergraduate with a BA is Psychology/Counseling. I am a Summa cum laude graduate with a MA in General Psychology. I have a love for understanding the mind human behavior, and being able to make this information understandable to students.
