I was accepted into the Berkeley Center for the Arts for voice in 2013. After 4 years there, I attended Charleston Southern University where I further studied classical voice under the tutelage of the Horton School of Music professors. One vocal teacher once told me "if you can sing classically, you can sing anything." I truly believe that and have put that into practice. Having fallen in love with Rock early on, singing in church since a young age, and dabbling in numerous other styles of music throughout my life, I implement the technique, discipline, and care for the voice I've been taught, every time I get on stage. From Broadway, to church worship, to pop & rock, I can teach you how to better utilize the voice YOU'RE working with and use it to it's fullest potential.
Everybody's voice is different; different limitations, different tones. Everyone also has different preferences of what they like to sing. In our lessons, I want to do everything I can to help YOU sing what YOU want to sing, or sing the style of music you're most comfortable with, while also teaching you how to care for your voice and not push it beyond it's limits.
I have prior experience teaching all ages in public school as a substitute and as a youth leader in the church teaching middle through high schoolers, patiently breaking down the intricacies of biblical text in ways they can comprehend and understand. This is exactly how I teach. I figure out how your voice works, the tone of it and it's limitations (highs and lows), then, from there, we'll break down the basics of singing technique and help you understand how to apply it to your unique voice.
