I have been an educator all my adult life, both internationally and in the United States. I began my teaching career with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. With further study and a Higher Education Diploma, I continued teaching at college level. I also have an internationally recognized TESOL certification and teaching English to international students is my passion.

Since coming to live in Greenville more than 20 years ago, I've taught ESL to adults and adolescents in the Greenville area. A few years ago I worked with 2 Japanese teenage students, one of whom is special needs, teaching them English language skills and helping with homework. I have also helped two South Korean students improve their English and a Finnish student update her resume and prepare to enter the workplace in the US. I'm used to working with groups or one on one.

For students who are eligible for citizenship and who already speak read and write some English I can help you prepare for your citizenship interview. Twelve years ago I became a US citizen myself and I understand well the requirements of this test.

With many years of teaching experience behind me, I'm extremely patient and understand how challenging learning a new language can be, especially for adults. I believe it's very important to be encouraging and to build confidence. Depending on the student's needs, I work on all aspects of language acquisition covering listening, speaking, reading and writing.

I also understand first - hand, the challenges international students face as they adapt to living in a new country and a different culture. I know too, that in the right learning environment and with a patient supportive teacher, all students can develop confidence and improve their skills. I'm here to help you be the best that you can be.
