Hey guys! My name is Lisa. As long as I can remember, I’ve loved learning. My mom and dad always told me they didn’t think there was anything I couldn’t do, and before I was too old to think any differently myself, I started believing them!
Spanish became my first love in highschool, and I earned so many credits that I went to college close to having a minor already, so it easily became my first major. I was blessed to be able to get an amazing job as the primary 5th, 6th and 7th grade Spanish teacher and found it matched my love to encourage with my love for this language- and enjoyed every second. And although I didn’t ‘major’ in anything math related, one of my most proud moments was at graduation when my math teacher pushed thru the crowd to find me and let me know I’d just gotten the highest score in his entire Pre-Calc and Trig final exam that he’d ever seen amongst his students.
I think learning should be fun. And I believe we all have the innate capacity to learn if we have someone in our corner cheering us on. I would love to be that person for your child.
Although I did not focus on my education on receiving any math certifications, I earned straight A’s all through school in math and was told at graduation that I also scored the highest in the school on my Pre Calc and Trig final exam. Since that time I’ve helped my children and some of their friends understand the math that oftentimes their teachers don’t have adequate time to spend reteaching.
I fell in love with the Spanish language in highschool and had a blast traveling to the Dominican Republic with our church several times as the only fluent communicator. Not only was I given the gift of being able to teach middle school Spanish in two separate schools, but I also was able to teach Native Spanish speakers English as they prepared to become citizens, which was such a sweet experience. I was also fully trained to teach foreign language for travel to those that need a crash course in the basics of conversation before traveling overs
