Hello! My name is Caitlin, and I'm excited to help you reach your academic goals. I recently graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and am currently completing my second bachelor's degree in Public Health, which I will finish in December 2026 before attending medical school to pursue my dream of becoming a pediatrician. As a former NCAA Division I cross country and track student-athlete, I learned the value of hard work, discipline, patience, and perseverance - qualities that I bring into every tutoring session. I understand that science and math can sometimes feel overwhelming, but I enjoy breaking complex topics into simple, manageable steps so students can build confidence while truly understanding the material.
My teaching experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant for an undergraduate ecology laboratory, where I guided college students through laboratory exercises, answered questions, and reinforced classroom concepts. I have also mentored middle school students through a local Middle School, giving me experience working with students of different ages and learning styles. Whether we're reviewing homework, preparing for an exam, or strengthening foundational skills, I tailor every lesson to each student's individual needs and learning pace.
My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe the best learning happens when students understand why something works rather than simply memorizing facts. I want every student to leave our sessions feeling more confident, more independent, and better prepared to succeed not only in their current class but in future courses as well. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and making learning an enjoyable experience!

Anatomy

Anatomy

I earned my degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina and have extensive coursework in human anatomy, physiology, and related biomedical sciences. As a pre-medical student, I have developed a strong understanding of anatomical structures and their clinical applications. I have experience teaching and mentoring students as an Ecology Lab Peer Teaching Assistant and biology mentor, where I helped students understand complex scientific concepts. I focus on making anatomy approachable by connecting concepts to real-world medical examples and using strategies that match each student's learning style.
Biology

Biology

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biology and have completed extensive coursework in genetics, microbiology, anatomy and physiology, ecology, cell biology, and biochemistry. Through my research experience and pre-med preparation, I have developed a strong understanding of biological concepts and scientific problem-solving. As a former Division I student-athlete, I learned effective study strategies and time management skills that I now share with students. I enjoy making complex topics easier to understand by adapting my teaching style to each student's learning needs.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biology and completed multiple college-level chemistry courses, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, as part of my pre-med education. My coursework has given me a strong foundation in chemical principles, reactions, and problem-solving. As a former Division I student-athlete, I developed effective study habits and time management skills that I use to help students succeed. I enjoy breaking down challenging chemistry concepts into clear, step-by-step explanations that build confidence and understanding.
Earth Science

Earth Science

I have a strong foundation in Earth Science through my Biology degree and extensive coursework in environmental science, ecology, and related scientific disciplines. I have experience teaching and mentoring students through my role as an Ecology Lab Teaching Assistant and Biology Mentor, where I helped students understand complex scientific concepts. My background in research and hands-on science education allows me to break down challenging topics into clear, engaging lessons. I am passionate about helping students build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of science.
Ecology

Ecology

I recently graduated with a B.S. in Biology and have focused academic and research experience in ecology and environmental systems. I have worked in ecology research, including hands-on lab and field-based projects involving data collection, analysis, and interpretation of biological patterns. I also served as a peer teaching assistant for an ecology lab, where I helped students understand core concepts, study methods, and lab report writing. My experience has strengthened my ability to explain complex ecological topics in a clear, structured, and student-friendly way.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I hold a B.S. in Biology and have experience teaching and mentoring younger students in science through tutoring and volunteer-based programs. I have worked with middle school students to build foundational understanding in life science concepts, helping them develop study skills, confidence, and curiosity in STEM subjects. My background in biology, combined with hands-on experience breaking down complex topics into simple explanations, allows me to teach elementary science in an engaging and age-appropriate way. I focus on making science approachable, interactive, and easy to understand for early learners.
Physical Science

Physical Science

I earned my Biology degree while completing rigorous coursework in chemistry, physics, and other physical sciences as part of my pre-med education. As a former Division I student-athlete, I developed strong time management and study strategies that I now use to help students understand challenging concepts. I focus on breaking down difficult topics into simple, step-by-step explanations while building confidence and problem-solving skills. My goal is to help students master the material rather than just memorize it.
Psychology

Psychology

I am a Biology graduate from the University of South Carolina completing a second degree in Public Health, with extensive coursework in psychology, behavioral science, and human development. My background in healthcare experiences, including cardiac rehabilitation and clinical volunteering, has allowed me to apply psychological concepts to real-world patient interactions and health behaviors. I have experience mentoring and teaching students through my roles as a biology mentor and peer teaching assistant, helping students build confidence in challenging subjects. I enjoy breaking down complex psychological concepts into clear, relatable ideas while adapting my approach to each student's learning style.
Track & Field

Track & Field

I am a former NCAA Division I cross country and track athlete at the University of South Carolina with years of experience in endurance training, strength training, and overall fitness. My background has taught me how to structure workouts, build consistency, and balance running with strength and recovery. I enjoy helping others make fitness feel approachable by breaking goals into realistic, manageable steps. I can assist with running, general conditioning, strength training, workout planning, and developing sustainable fitness routines.

Very good tutor

Caitlin helped my daughter understand a new topic in Honors Chemistry. She came to the lesson very well prepared and even sent her some helpful notes beforehand. Caitlin is warm, patient, and easy to work with, and she immediately made my daughter feel comfortable. She is a wonderful tutor, and her rates are very reasonable. I highly recommend her!
