Does your child struggle with reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, or grammar? Is it difficult to motivate your child to improve their ELA skills? Do you want your child to learn how to work smarter not harder? Whatever your situation is, I want to help you help your child achieve better outcomes and increased confidence in their abilities.
My name is Pam, and I love what I do. I’ve been an English teacher and tutor in NY and SC for over twenty five years. I have mainly worked with students in grades five through nine, so those grades are definitely my specialty. I’m confident that the teaching methods and strategies that I utilize, can apply to students of any age. My passion for my subject matter is evident, and I love sharing my tips, tricks, and hints that help students achieve tangible results in ELA class and beyond. I can honestly tell my students that yes, they will be using this when they get out of school since nearly everything we do involves reading, writing, and speaking. Best to embrace that and learn how to do those tasks well.
I’ve often found that students need to feel a connection to the material and the teacher in order for them to really buy in and try their best. I understand that completely, and because of that, I go out of my way to relate to my students, keep their interest, and motivate them to do well. They may or may not admit it, but some of them may in fact enjoy our time working together. For some students, that’s half the battle! Many of my other students have proudly shared an increase in their grades and that they, “finally get it.” Now you know what I do and why I hope you’ll give me a chance to work with your children to increase their ELA skills and confidence. You don’t need to struggle any longer.
