“Supportive Elementary Tutor Helping Students Build Confidence

I am a certified elementary teacher with a background in teaching 4th grade in a Title I school setting. I earned my degree in Elementary Education and am currently finishing my Master’s in Reading Education. Through my classroom experience, I have worked with a wide range of learners, including students who need additional support in reading, writing, and math. I am especially passionate about helping students build confidence and develop a stronger understanding of skills that may feel challenging in the classroom.

In my teaching, I use a structured but flexible approach that focuses on meeting each student where they are. I have experience using evidence-based literacy practices, including phonics instruction, fluency development, and reading comprehension strategies, as well as supporting students in math through building number sense, problem-solving skills, and step-by-step understanding of concepts. I regularly work with students in whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one settings, which has helped me learn how to adapt my instruction to fit different learning styles and needs. My goal is to make learning feel manageable and encouraging rather than overwhelming.

As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive and positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking risks. I focus not only on improving academic skills, but also on helping students feel more confident and capable in their learning. I believe that with the right support and approach, every student can make meaningful progress in reading, writing, and math.
