I was a teaching assistant for Special needs children, and students with learning disabilities for middle school aged children. I am incredibly flexibly and patient and utilize creative thinking methods to find ways to help my students learn in an environment that is best for them.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

With over 8 years of teaching experience I have encountered all types of learners and students with different learning needs. I have worked with students with ASD and I have learned that no one person with ASD has the same needs and each person is unique. Because of this they way they learn is unique as well. It is my job as an educator to learn how my students are most perceptive to absorbing new material so that they can be sucsessful in their studies. I have work experience as a middle school aid to assist those with a diagnosis in their studies. I also worked with the highschool POWER UP program to help those with different needs focus on school, stay on top of their learning, and develop academic skills to keep up with assignments and get caught up if they were behind. I will work one on one with you personally to ensure that we develop a tutoring plan that is unique to your needs to ensure the highest quality of personalized tutoring.

Career Development

I have been involved for 8 years with Civil Air Patrol, The USAF auxiliary, I earned the highest cadet honor of reaching the grade of Colonel and earned the Spaatz award. Since joining Civil Air Patrol I have held numerous staff positions, lead teams of 60 - 300 people. In that time I have mentored hundreds of peers in job application skills, resume writing and done hundreds of interviews. I have given countless speeches, meetings, and taught classes to cadets across the nation in public speaking, resume writing, confidence and command presence, body language and how to hold effective meetings. I have been an interview instructor for 5 years and counting. Whatever your professional development needs, I will work with you to reach those goals!

Dyslexia

Teaching is a passion of mine and helping each student figure out how they learn best, is something that will help them for years to come. So my main goal with teaching is meeting a students' unique needs to ensure their comprehension. Every learner has different needs and it's my duty as a teacher to ensure I learn, and meet those needs of each student. I have experience teaching students of all ages with dyslexia and have learned that I need to alter my approach to ensure that the student is receptive to my teaching. I have found one on one mentoring, along with thorough communication about goals, leads to the success of my students with dyslexia. I worked as a middle school aid to assist those with a diagnosis in their studies. Elementary (K-6th)

With over 8 years of teaching experience I have encountered all types of learners and students with different learning needs. Elementary aged children are at a point in their lives where their brains are growing rapidly and they are most receptive to learning. Being able to help kids excel in that time is a true passion of mine. I can give parents peace of mind and do homework with their child in the evenings or do focused tutoring to improve a specific skill such as writing, reading, math, science, art, history or study skills. The past year has put a lot of young kids behind due to covid-19 and they may need one on one tutoring to get them back on track. Homeschool

I worked with ages 4-12 on online school programs and helped them navigate their studies and ensure that the online school, and homeschool material was able to be absorbed by the child and worked to customize their education to match the speed of the child's acceleration.

Microsoft Outlook

I have been using MS platforms for over 12 years. As a member of Civil Air Patrol program ( USAF auxiliary) I have lead lead teams of 60 - 300 people in a professional setting. I have given countless speeches, meetings, and taught classes to cadets across the nation in person and in a virtual setting. All of these events have been coordinated through Microsoft outlook and its extensions. I also have effectively lead a team of 300+ virtually and facilitated a week long event by utilizing microsoft 365 programs. Im proficient in Microsoft outlook, teams, onenote and other MS platforms. I can help you compose professional emails, teach digital communication etiquette and help you create signature blocks. Special Needs

In my 8 + years of teaching I have encountered all types of learners and students with different learning needs. Sometimes there are challenges of a learning disability such as ADD ADHD Dyslexia and other diagnosis that most think "hinder" a students learning, but I don't believe that is the case at all. I believe it just means that mainstream education and lecture may not suit them and the teaches ability to learn the students needs and meet those needs, is what is required to see the student flourish. I worked as a middle school aid to assist those with a diagnosis in their studies. I also worked with the highschool POWER UP program to help those with different needs focus on school, stay on top of their learning, and develop academic skills to keep up with assignments and get caught up if they were behind. I will work personally to figure out how my students learn best, and adjust my teaching styles to match them. Zoology

I have graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in Geology. I'm currently attending the University of North Dakota to obtain a Masters of Environmental Management in Earth Science Systems and Policy. I have taken classes in ecology, wildland and biogeography, resource management, species tracking, zoology, paleontology and many other related fields.
