I believe that everyone possesses the ability to draw and can be taught the basics to create virtually any kind of art form. Because I have taught all ages and all levels of drawing, from absolute beginner to seasoned artist, I have a lot of patience with my students. As for my artwork, I work in colored pencil, graphite, ink, and oil. With a deep appreciation for Renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite art, my work is greatly influenced by artists associated with both movements. I'm also inspired by 19th and early 20th century Symbolism, English book illustration, Botanical art, classical and contemporary realism.
I have been a private art instructor since 1995. My primary goal is to help students from all levels and backgrounds foster a love for art and a love of drawing.

I earned a BA in Art History with a minor in History from Mansfield University, PA. I began teaching private drawing lessons from my home studio and have taught students from 6 years of age to 80. Over the last 22 years, I have taught in a variety of settings including the following: private homes, studios , libraries, museums, and Educational Cooperatives. I studied oil painting during a summer intensive and have taken additional courses through the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto. My continuing education also includes a 2013 National Gallery of Art Teacher Workshop, Washington DC. The Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde- Millais’s Ophelia in Focus- Curriculum Connections: Art and Literature for High School Students. I hold "Master Level" membership in, and am a former President of, the Bluegrass Drawing Society of which I co-founded in 2005. My artwork can be found in private collections throughout the United States. In 2014, I illustrated the children's book, "Jayden the Gentle, Tall and Gangly Giraffe: The Power of Gentleness" written by Lisa Sharon. My academic paper, Inside Christina’s World, was published by Mansfield University’s Papyrus, Art History e-journal and five of my illustrations were published in the exhib
