After obtaining my M.A. in German from the University of Bonn, I started my instructional career teaching German to adult learners and refugees, helping them acclimate to German culture and society. I continued my education with a joint Ph.D. in German Studies from Duke University and UNC at Chapel Hill, where I was honored to receive the teaching award from Duke. I have been working as a teacher and tutor of German for over 14 years, including time spent as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of Charleston.
Though I enjoy teaching classrooms full of students, I thrive when I tutor students individually and get to apply my expertise in a way that best suits the unique needs of the learner. My teaching methodology is student-centered and focuses on interactive and immersive engagement, meaning you get maximum speaking time to help build your confidence while ensuring we utilize German for the vast majority of our session. In addition to my German expertise, I am a native Mongolian speaker and am passionate about helping students master the language and explore Mongolian culture.
