15+ years in the classroom and tutoring

I was a classroom teacher in Hartsville for six years. I taught second and third grades as well as junior high English. I have a B.S. in elementary education with a minor in English. In addition to tutoring, I currently write and edit educational workbooks for a local company. I also teach English and math classes to local home-school students.

I have been tutoring for over ten years in a variety of subjects from preschool to adult education. I enjoy working with students in an individualized approach to meet his or her particular needs. I tutor all subjects -- reading, English, math up to algebra I, SAT prep, GED classes and study skills for history and science.

My specialty is teaching reading through a phonetic approach. I have seen a strong phonics foundation help numerous students from young, beginning readers up through adult students with dyslexia issues that have plagued them their entire lives. References available upon request.
