My name is McKenzie and I’ve been teaching for 14 years! I graduated with degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education K-12. I also have a Masters of Education degree in Special Education. While I have been teaching as an elementary special education teacher in a public school setting, I have also provided private tutoring services to students for 18+ years. I have extensive experience working with neurotypical students, as well as students with ADHD, Specific Learning Disability, Autism, Intellectual Disability, Other Health Impairment, and students with behavioral difficulties. I have certification and experience with several different reading interventions, such as Reading Recovery, Wilson Reading, and Spire. I also have experience with multiple math curricula, such as Big Ideas Math, Math out of the Box, and Saxon Math.
Teaching is my calling! I absolutely love when a struggling student finally makes the connection and gains understanding! That light bulb moment is so priceless! I enjoy using various techniques, resources and interventions to better help students grasp content! I always strive to make the learning as fun as possible!
I am easy to reach and fast to respond so I hope you’ll reach out to schedule a lesson!
