I have been teaching elementary special education for 28 years. I received my undergraduate degree in special education and my masters degree in elementary education. I also have a specialist certificate in special education from the state department for completing thirty course hours beyond my master’s degree. I have worked at the same school for all of my 28 years. I am currently a resource teacher, meaning I work each day with students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade to strengthen and build skills in reading and math. I work with students with learning disabilities, autism, and ADHD. I love working with children, and I have many effective and engaging strategies for teaching reading and math.
I have been tutoring students after school for about 4 years, and I really enjoy the opportunity to work one-on-one with students and focus on their individual needs.
I have 2 children, one is a junior a high school and one is a junior in college. They have busy schedules with sports and classes, so tutoring has been a great way to spend the extra time I now have.
