Bio

Since 2010, I have tutored students in GED, SAT, and GRE preparation. I earned my doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology in 2018 and hold a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, which has provided me with skills in guidance counseling, resume writing, job exploration, mock interviewing, and teaching.

I have a Master's in Rehabilitation Counselor. Master's training in Rehabilitation Counseling prepares a counselor in career development, job development, labor market research, etc. This training is similar to training that a Guidance Counselor received but adds knowledge and skills in working with individuals with disabilities as well.

Work for three years with an organization that hosted Gifted student programs throughout the US. We prepared students for college by exposing them to different careers. Also I have a Master's in Counseling. With that training I have helped students with transitioning from high school to college, resume writing, interviewing, and career exploration.

Most of the tutoring I provide has been GED math preparation. I notice that many students have difficulties with math due to poor math instruction during their academic training, a disconnect in their learning style and how they were taught, disinterest in the material, among other factors. I help to make the material relatable for the student. I also have the student teach the material back to me in their own words to assure that they are grasping the material before moving on to another section.

I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who works with high school aged students with disabilities. I have provided services and information to individuals with hearing impairments, primarily giving guidance on the type of assistive devices needed to reduce impediments towards employment and academic training. I have academic training in American Sign Language and am a child of an ASL interpreter. I also have taught basic sign language at church and community events.
