I’m Allara! I graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Philosophy. During my time there, I developed the foundation for my current approach to tutoring. I began as an English tutor for Tutor.com, where I worked with a diverse range of students in 2018 and 2019. I tutored ESL students, international students, and learners ranging from primary school to college level.
Through this experience, I learned that each student has a unique learning style and requires an individualized approach. I make sure to match the pace and learning style of each student and ensure they fully understand the material throughout the tutoring process. I build on students’ existing knowledge and interests, as I believe engagement is key to learning. When you can channel a student’s natural interest into the subject at hand, amazing things can be achieved.
After university, I attained the Google IT Support Certificate and went on to lead a team of technicians at Paxton Access. This role allowed me to sharpen my knowledge of IT and provided opportunities to coach and train my staff on hardware, software, and networking fundamentals. The chance to teach and develop others has been incredibly rewarding.
I look forward to every opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the students I work with. I currently tutor Art History, IT, and Debate. Please contact me if you have any questions, feedback, or would like to schedule a lesson.
