I'm an experienced professor offering tutoring services from my office near downtown Greenville, South Carolina or online. I specialize in intermediate and advanced Chinese, English language coaching for speakers of other languages, and writing support. I also tutor students in anthropology and support independent anthropology research projects.
I've taught students of all ages and in all settings, including preschool, elementary, middle and high school, college and adults, and worked with native English speakers and people who have come to the US from other countries.

I quickly assess a student's level, then find ways to challenge them to learn while also making learning fun. I provide crucial, targeted feedback and help motivate students to improve. I also encourage supplemental activities to help students immerse themselves in the topics we explore. The result is engaging sessions that work well for all kinds of learners.

I bring two decades of experiences working with learners who have special needs, including attention issues, executive function challenges, autism, and verbal processing challenges. I use coaching techniques to ensure that students are motivated and rewarded to continue learning, and make sure that learning goals are regularly updated and assessed. I provide feedback at designated intervals so that everyone is aware of progress already made, and feel confident about the process. I look forward to working with you!
