I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Saint Leo University and I am currently completing my Master of Public Administration at Clemson University. I am also a certified K–5 Special Education teacher in South Carolina, where I work full-time as an Emotional Disabilities (ED) educator. My background has given me extensive training in individualized instruction, behavior support, academic accommodations, and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
My teaching experience includes several years working with elementary-age students from kindergarten through fifth grade in both one-on-one and small-group settings. I currently teach in a self-contained ED classroom, which requires thoughtful planning, patience, and the ability to break down concepts in simple, accessible ways. I have supported students with challenges such as ADHD, autism, emotional regulation needs, learning delays, and academic skill gaps. Over time I’ve learned how to build trust, keep lessons engaging, and use positive reinforcement to help students stay motivated and confident.
My tutoring approach is supportive, structured, and personalized. I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style so I can tailor lessons to what works best for them. I use clear explanations, step-by-step practice, and real-life examples to help students master skills. I also focus heavily on building confidence, especially for learners who may feel discouraged or overwhelmed. My goal is always to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel safe to try, make mistakes, and grow. I believe that with the right support and consistency, every child can succeed.
