I hold both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in biology, and my academic background includes research on invasive species, sea level rise, and saltwater intrusion in coastal ecosystems. I also conducted graduate research on wildlife populations in Chernobyl, Fukushima, and U.S. military bases. These projects allowed me to work across biology, ecology, environmental science, and geology, giving me a strong foundation for explaining how scientific concepts connect to real-world systems.

I have six years of teaching experience at the middle school, high school, and college levels. I taught a variety of science courses in middle school, high school Biology and Environmental Science, and college-level Biology, Geology, and Anatomy & Physiology. During graduate school, I also mentored undergraduate students through their entire thesis projects, helping them develop research questions, analyze data, and complete their final drafts. These experiences taught me how to support learners individually, guide long-term academic work, and adapt my instruction to many different learning needs.

My tutoring style is patient, flexible, and focused on helping students build real understanding and confidence. I break down complex ideas into clear steps, connect concepts to real-world examples, and adjust my explanations to each student’s goals and learning style. Whether a student needs help with foundational biology, environmental processes, evolution, anatomy, or geological systems, I aim to make science accessible and meaningful. I enjoy watching students grow more confident as they strengthen their skills and see measurable progress.
