Hello! My name is Yulia. I am a native Russian speaker and have lived in the United States for many years. I am currently based in South Carolina. I hold a university degree in Philology and a qualification in teaching Greek and English from Krasnodar State University in Russia. I offer Russian and English lessons tailored to each student’s age, level, and goals.
From 2010 to 2015, I taught Greek and English to students ranging from age seven through high school, in both group classes and individual lessons. Alongside this role, I spent two years teaching English to adults at a language school. My experience includes both group instruction and one-on-one tutoring for children and adults.
Later taught English online with Skyeng from 2018 to 2019, and I continue to teach Greek and English online today.
My approach depends on the learner. With younger children, I often use games and interactive activities to make learning engaging and encourage participation. With adults and older students, I place greater emphasis on conversation, especially when their goal is to communicate more comfortably in everyday situations.
I introduce grammar through meaningful speaking practice, helping students understand and apply language patterns in context. This allows us to develop accuracy while keeping lessons approachable and giving students plenty of opportunities to speak.
As a Russian tutor, I combine my native-language knowledge with formal training and experience in teaching languages. As an English tutor, I draw on my academic background, teaching experience, and everyday life in the United States. In both subjects, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence.
