I studied at Francis Marion University from 2019 to 2022. During my time in undergraduate studies at Francis Marion University, I earned studied as a double-major student and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Compute Science with the second highest honor, Magna Cum Laude, and an overall GPA of 3.836. I participated in multiple honor societies, including three honor societies in college: Phi Kappa Phi for overall academic performance, Upsilon Pi Epsilon for outstanding performance in my Computer Science undergraduate studies, and Kappa Mu Epsilon for outstanding performance in my Mathematics undergraduate studies. My coursework consisted of a large variety of classes like Abstract Algebra, Numerical Analysis, and Linear Algebra, but primarily high level Calculus classes, such as Multivariable Calculus and Ordinary Differential Equations.
In addition to my academic achievements, I have four years of tutoring experience at Mathnasium of Florence, where I worked with students ranging from 2nd grade to college-level mathematics. This role helped me to develop strong instructional skills, tailoring my teaching methods to the individual needs of each learner, but also to do so quickly. I frequently taught multiple students from different classes and different subjects all at once, with only an hour to get all of their learning needs met. I learned how to teach lessons in such a way that students understood quickly and could effectively demonstrate what was taught while I was helping other students.
To me, tutoring is far better than teaching. Why? Tutoring allows me to connect personally with students and fully understand what they require and what they need help with. I've often been told by students that "if you were my teacher, I would actually understand what was going on." That should always be the result of a tutoring sessions: misunderstandings clarified, forgotten knowledge revived and refreshed, and unfamiliar concepts taught in an enthusiastic and memorable way.
