A modern up to date instructor with many years of teaching experience

I have been providing one-on-one music instruction for more than 30 years and offer lessons in guitar, violin, and other string instruments. My experience includes teaching at music stores, my local fine arts center and my own private studio. I have worked with students ranging in age from 5 to 85. If you want to learn to play rock, blues, classical, folk, jazz, country, bee-bop or gospel, etc., I am glad to help reach you reach your goal.

Among the things you will learn in my classroom are standard music notation and tablature, chords, improvisation, scales and modes, bowing techniques for violin, and many popular pieces. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s skill level, striving toward improving musicality, whatever your ability. Teaching materials include Hal Leonard and Mel Bay method books for guitar as well as Suzuki Method for violin, and many others.

Along with decades of experience as a performing musician, I am a certified teacher in the Sassmanshaus Tradition of violin playing from the Starling Project in Cincinnati OH. I am currently studying “Understanding the Fundamentals of Music” with Professor Robert Greenberg. I was recently awarded for 10 years teaching at my local fine arts center.

I am an experienced teacher with many classroom hours with excellent teaching techniques and am committed to providing the best education I possibly can. Using a strong foundation of skills that are proven and practical, I have been very successful with many students over the years.
