Tutoring Consultant Focused In Biology and Creative Writing

I'm Nick! I am a 23-year-old graduate from Davidson College where I majored in Biology alongside a Narrative Arts degree. This interdisciplinary approach I took toward my writing degree reflects my own view and relationship toward education. My love of writing and storytelling exists through all I do, whether I am writing a stage play, an academic essay, or a scientific article clarifying and unpacking complex topics.

I have over 3 years of experience tutoring college students as a writing consultant. I met my students one-on-one through every step of the writing process: from brainstorming and outlining to revising the first and final draft. I also helped students with creative writing, discussing aspects such as prewriting, character, setting, and dialogue. Across those years, I developed a rapport with recurring students, and I learned how to recognize, approach, and best benefit different communication and learning styles.

I had also taught theatre at a local non-profit for after-school elementary students my final year of college. This experience allowed me experience in tutoring a large group through introducing to them theatre terminology and skill, while also encouraging improvisational activities through these teachings.
