I've had the privilege of teaching at these schools, along with Horry-Georgetown Technical College, and have met the needs of learners from an array of national, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
Whether first-generation students fresh out of high school, veterans returning from service, or young people from college-educated families, my students have all enjoyed a classroom in which they collaborate with each other during every step of the writing process while learning to research, theorize, and critically consider their passions.
My classes have been in person, but they have always utilized robust online components (D2L, Canvas, Moodle, Google Suite, Microsoft Office). As for tutoring, I have delivered tailored lessons to students online and in person as well. These learners ranged from recent high school graduates preparing for the ASVAB to middle/high school students needing help with critical thinking, transition words/phrases, reading/phonics, and vocabulary building.
Lastly, I am TEFL certified through the International TEFL academy. An upper-intermediate Spanish speaker, I've leveraged my bilingualism to clarify concepts to Spanish-speaking students on numerous occasions.
