I am a certified upper elementary teacher with over nine years of classroom experience across Texas and South Carolina. I earned my bachelor’s degree in General Studies from the University of North Texas and completed an alternative certification program in elementary education. I also completed graduate coursework in counseling at Wake Forest University, which deepened my understanding of child development and relationship-building in educational settings.

My teaching experience includes one year teaching 7th and 8th grade math and five years in a self-contained 5th grade classroom at an IB charter school in Texas. I obtained my ELL supplemental certification to better support multilingual learners. I currently teach 5th grade ELA and social studies in a public school setting.

My primary areas of strength include reading comprehension, writing structure, grammar, vocabulary development (including morphology and academic vocabulary), and test preparation strategies. I specialize in helping students organize their thinking, support responses with text evidence, strengthen paragraph writing, and build confidence in their academic abilities.

I have extensive experience working with reluctant readers and students who need additional support with organization and executive functioning skills. I believe strong relationships are the foundation of successful learning. My goal is not only to improve academic performance, but to help students feel capable and confident in their learning - even if they haven’t felt that way before.

I design personalized sessions that strengthen skills, build independence, and help students feel proud of their progress. I look forward to creating a supportive learning space where your child can grow, succeed, and feel confident in their abilities.
