I have been in education for the last 15 years. I have my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and have my Master's degree in Administration and Supervision, along with my principal licensure. I am a mentor teacher and have spent many years tutoring students in person after school and throughout the summer. I have a wide background, ranging from classroom teacher to academic interventionist to behavioral interventionist.
I believe in meeting kids where they're at, modifying what we are working on to make it more attainable, and introducing background knowledge to make content more approachable. Allowing students to see that they're capable is easily the best part of the job! It's important for kids to get excited about learning and mastering new skills! I take time to learn your individual child and what their specific needs are. I can look at their phonological awareness in detail if we are working with reading/spelling words, using different strategies if comprehension is our focus, and I can modify math skills to break them down into smaller steps where your child can meet mastery. What's important is that one on one time focusing solely on what your child needs!
I have taught in person and online. I have also spent many years tutoring after finishing my full time job, as well as teaching summer school. I am choosing to tutor online in this current stage because I just had a baby of my own and am unable to be two places at once!
I cannot wait to meet your kids and help them meet their highest potential!!
