In terms of teaching, I have worked in schools as a student teacher. I currently have 30+ hours in the classroom, and am working on more. My past tutoring has produced real results, as I hold a formidable understanding of education, being a current education myself!
In terms of the English language, I passed my AP Literature exam with a 5. I am well read on many of the novels AP teachers are requiring of their class, and I have been adamant in promoting student literacy. Just last year, I researched and wrote a paper on role models in young adult novels.
Furthermore, I believe this dedication to literacy is shown in my qualifications as an ACT English tutor. On my reading and writing act, I received a score of 35. Additionally, I myself was successfully tutored in the ACT. Thus, I know what it is like to be a student's shoes, and I have seen how improvements can occur. I now believe I can emulate the skills I learned from my past tutor.
