Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. I've spent more than 25 years teaching science because I genuinely enjoy helping students discover that chemistry is no where near as intimidating as it appears to be. I hold a Master of Science in Chemistry and currently teach chemistry and physics at a local high school. Throughout my career, I've worked with students of many different ability levels—from those who simply want to pass their class to those preparing for AP exams or planning to major in STEM fields in college. My strength lies in connecting scientific principles to individual student interests: maybe you want to understand how car batteries work or how digestion takes place in the stomach, I can help you connect what you enjoy with what you need to know.
My philosophy as a tutor is that real learning comes from understanding concepts, not memorizing procedures. When students struggle in chemistry, it's often because they're missing one or two foundational ideas that make everything else seem confusing. I can find those gaps and help you build confidence step by step in stoichiometry, equilibrium, thermodynamics, or AP Chemistry free-response questions. It's okay to be wrong! Once I see where the problems are in understanding, I can help you make corrections. My goal isn't simply to help you complete the homework, but help you become a stronger, more confident science student for years to come.
I welcome students studying General Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and college-level chemistry. Whether you're preparing for an exam, trying to improve your grades, or looking for extra support throughout the school year, I'd be happy to help you reach your goals.
