I am a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Certified Educator through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, where I am also a Level 4 Diploma candidate with four of six units complete. My passion for wine began over two decades ago and has taken me from the cellars of Michelin-starred restaurants in New York City to directing award-winning beverage programs across Charleston, South Carolina. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Fordham University, and I bring both the technical depth of a credentialed wine professional and the practical business acumen of someone who has run multi-million dollar operations.

My teaching experience spans the entirety of my hospitality career. I have designed and led structured wine education curricula for teams ranging from entry-level servers to seasoned hospitality professionals, incorporating blind tastings, producer visits, and written training materials. I am deeply familiar with the WSET examination framework at Levels 1 through 3, as well as the Court of Master Sommeliers study pathway, and I tailor my approach to meet each student where they are — whether they are a curious beginner or a working professional preparing for a certification exam. My sessions are conversational, rigorous, and grounded in real-world application rather than rote memorization.

In addition to wine education, I offer tutoring in business fundamentals, marketing, career development, and interview preparation — drawing on my experience hiring, mentoring, and developing teams across some of the most demanding dining environments in the country. I work exclusively online, which allows me to connect with students anywhere, and I am committed to making every session practical, engaging, and worth your time.

Business

Business

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Fordham University, where I graduated on the Dean's List and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society. Over the course of a 20+ year career, I have owned full P&L responsibility, managed multi-million dollar budgets, directed teams of 100+ employees, and led operational strategy across multiple high-volume business concepts simultaneously. My experience spans financial planning, labor optimization, cost controls, vendor negotiations, hiring, and organizational development — giving me a comprehensive, real-world foundation in business operations at an executive level. I bring both academic grounding and hands-on business leadership to every tutoring session, with a focus on practical application over theory.
Career Development

Career Development

Throughout my 20+ year career as a General Manager and senior hospitality leader, I have hired, onboarded, and developed hundreds of professionals across all levels — from entry-level staff to management teams in some of the most competitive dining environments in New York City and Charleston. I have designed structured training programs, conducted performance reviews, and actively mentored individuals through career transitions, promotions, and professional growth within the industry. My experience on the hiring side of the table gives me a uniquely practical perspective on what employers are looking for, how to position yourself effectively, and how to navigate career pivots with confidence. I specialize in helping hospitality and service industry professionals clarify their career direction, build their personal brand, and take concrete steps toward their next opportunity.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

As a General Manager and senior leader who has conducted hundreds of interviews across two of the most competitive restaurant markets in the country, I bring a genuine insider perspective to interview preparation that most tutors simply cannot offer. I understand exactly what hiring managers are looking for, how to evaluate a candidate's presence and communication, and what separates a good answer from a memorable one. My coaching approach focuses on helping students articulate their value clearly and confidently — developing compelling answers to behavioral questions, refining their personal narrative, and practicing the kind of natural, poised delivery that makes a strong impression. Whether you are entering the workforce, changing careers, or interviewing for a senior leadership role, I will help you walk into that room prepared and confident.
Marketing

Marketing

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Fordham University, where I graduated on the Dean's List and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society. Throughout my career I have applied marketing principles hands-on — collaborating with marketing teams on brand partnerships, press initiatives, event programming, and content strategy across multiple high-profile hospitality concepts in New York City and Charleston. I have direct experience building brand identity, developing customer experience strategy, and driving revenue through targeted promotional campaigns, including a featured role as wine talent at the Charleston Food & Wine Classic. I bring both the academic foundation and the real-world application of marketing strategy to help students connect theory to practice in a meaningful way.
Nutrition

Nutrition

As a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a WSET Level 4 Diploma candidate, my professional training encompasses an in-depth study of the relationship between food, flavor compounds, and nutritional components — including acidity, sugar, fat, tannin, and how they interact with the human palate. My sommelier curriculum required rigorous study of sensory analysis, food and wine pairing principles, and the physiological science behind taste perception, giving me a strong foundation in applied food science. Across my career I have developed food and beverage pairing programs, led educational sessions on flavor theory, and worked closely with executive chefs to create menus grounded in the science of how food and drink complement one another. I am best suited to help students exploring food science, sensory studies, nutrition fundamentals, and the science of taste and flavor.
