During my 9 years as an Army physician, I regularly taught medical concepts to junior medical staff, trained soldiers in health and wellness topics, and explained complex diagnoses to patients of all ages and educational backgrounds—experience that taught me to adapt my explanations to any audience. My teaching approach emphasizes breaking down complex topics into clear, manageable steps, using real-world examples, and creating a judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
